Coca-Cola Philadelphia Liberty Bell Aluminum Bottle USA 2019

The Liberty Bell is an iconic symbol of American independence, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Once placed in the steeple of the Pennsylvania State House (now renamed Independence Hall), the bell today is located in the Liberty Bell Center in Independence National Historical Park. The bell was commissioned in 1752 by the Pennsylvania Provincial Assembly from the London firm of Lester and Pack (known subsequently as the Whitechapel Bell Foundry), and was cast with the lettering "Proclaim LIBERTY Throughout all the Land unto all the Inhabitants Thereof", a Biblical reference from the Book of Leviticus (25:10).

The bell first cracked when rung after its arrival in Philadelphia, and was twice recast by local workmen John Pass and John Stow, whose last names appear on the bell. In its early years, the bell was used to summon lawmakers to legislative sessions and to alert citizens about public meetings and proclamations.

Coca-Cola Christmas Aluminum Bottle USA 2016

The iconic Coca-Cola polar bears are back on holiday packaging for the first time in three years with a bold, simplistic interpretation from noted illustrator Noma Bar.

Coke’s global and North America design teams collaborated with Coca-Cola Mexico to refresh the seasonal icons, who debuted in a 1993 Coca-Cola commercial titled “Northern Lights” and subsequently took on a more realistic look over the years due to advances in computer generated imagery (CGI) technology.

“This year, we wanted to keep the same look and personality while creating a more graphic illustration style that would be easy to print around the world,” said Frederic Kahn, design director, Coca-Cola. “We also wanted to embed signature Coca-Cola elements so the Coca-Cola polar bears could immediately be recognizable as our asset.”

The teams briefed Noma Bar, who had previously designed a limited-edition set of Coca-Cola Marvel mini cans and iconography for the “Share a Coke and a Song” campaign and, most recently, Fanta Halloween packaging. The artist known for his signature use of negative space and color explored ways to discover Coke design iconography embedded within the illustrations, while keeping the overall look and shape of the bears consistent with past illustrations.

“If you look closely at the bears, you will see bottle caps used for their eyes, where the edge of the angled bottle cap becomes eyelashes, and bottle shaped reflections on their noses,” Kahn said. “When the bears are seen from the side, several have Coca-Cola dynamic ribbons as mouths, and we have some bears holding and drinking Coca-Cola from the contour bottle. The illustrations feel fresh and playful and capture special holiday moments of family togetherness.”
On multi-packs, the bears are framed within the Red Disc, which unifies the look across Coca-Cola, Coca-Cola Life, Coca-Cola Zero and Diet Coke. The limited-edition packaging is currently available in countries around the world as part of Coke’s 2016 holiday campaign, which also includes a TV commercial and outdoor ads featuring new “Taste the Feeling” photography.

Polar Bears sketch
“When I started to sketch a group of polar bears, I realized that I was not just drawing bears, but landscapes as well,” Noma Bar explained via email. “So I treated them as curvy snowy landscapes… in some places the silver curves create a Coca-Cola bottle.”
He continues, “The bottle motif repeats in many places… when you look closer, you can discover that the highlight of the bear’s nose is a drawing of a tiny Coke bottle. And the eyes are made with Coke crowns. Bending and flipping the crown allowed the bear to be more expressive and even helped me to define the bear’s gender.”

Direct-to-talent collaborations with the world’s foremost creatives are part of the model Coca-Cola Design is creating. “While design agencies are still very much part of our portfolio and ecosystem, there is also something unique about working directly with specialist talent like Noma, who can bring an expertise to the table that traditional agencies may not be staffed up for,” explains James Sommerville, vice president of global design at Coca-Cola.

Coca-Cola Share a Coke® and a Song Aluminum Bottles USA 2016

Share a Coke® and a Song: Summer Campaign to Feature Lyrics on Packaging

The hit “Share a Coke” campaign will sing a different tune this summer when it swaps out first names for song lyrics on packages of Coca-Cola®, Diet Coke®, Coke Zero™ and Coca-Cola Life®.

Starting in mid-April, more than 70 genre-spanning lyrics – from classic hits to recent chart-toppers – will be featured on 8-oz. glass bottles, 7.5-oz. mini cans, 20-oz. bottles, 1.25- and 2-liter bottles, and 12-oz. cans of all four Trademark Coke brands.

“Share a Coke and a Song” also will feature lyrics from iconic and soon-to-be-iconic Coca-Cola and Diet Coke ads such as “I’d Like To Buy The World A Coke”, “Taste the Feeling™” and “Just For The Taste Of It.” The complete list of lyrics featured on pack will be available at www.ShareaCoke.com.

“Share a Coke and a Song” signals a major evolution for one of the company’s most successful U.S. campaigns ever, now in its third year. "Share a Coke", which originated in Australia in 2011 and has since rolled out in more than 70 countries, has helped Coke grow volume, revenue and share in its flagship market.

“We’re proud of the success of ‘Share a Coke’ over the last two years,” said Racquel Harris Mason, vice president, Coca-Cola/Coke Zero, Coca-Cola North America. “We’ve seen incredible enthusiasm from consumers who love the campaign’s personal touch, and we wanted to push ourselves to innovate and provide our fans with new experiences. Evolving the program to focus on lyrics creates an amazing opportunity for people to share special moments, sentiments and a Coca-Cola with people they care about.”

Joe Belliotti, head of global music marketing for Coca-Cola North America, credits Coca-Cola China with successfully introducing the "Share a Coke and a Song" concept in 2014. “Music is a universal language,” he explained. “Lyrics can explain how we feel and what we want to say when we can’t find the words ourselves. The art of sharing music to express feelings for someone special goes back to creating mixtapes as a kid, which later evolved to mix CDs and now playlists… that behavior hasn’t changed. We wanted to find a way to take this idea to 'Share a Coke'.”

Share a Coke and a Song 12pack
The team selected lyrics that capture a moment and reflect Coke’s brand values of optimism, refreshment and inclusion. Lyrics featured on the debut collection of “Share a Coke and a Song” capture the feeling of falling in love (“The Way You Love Me” and “You Belong With Me”) and celebrating victory (“All I Do is Win” and “We Are The Champions”) to moments of friendship (“Lean On Me”), to flirtation (“It’s Getting Hot in Herre”), sass (“We Never Go Out Of Style”), motivation (“I’m Your Biggest Fan”) and patriotism (“I’m Proud To Be An American” and “Sweet Land Of Liberty”).

“This isn’t about sharing a Coke and your favorite song… we didn’t focus on greatest hits or trending tracks,” Belliotti said. “We picked lyrics that inspire connection. Our goal was to create a list that appeals to diverse tastes, so every music fan can feel there’s at least one lyric that speaks to them. We ended up with a cross-section of universal songs that express a range of positive sentiments.”

Lyrics used on Trademark Coke packages will reflect each variant's personality and fanbase. “Share a Coke and Song” will also expand beyond its core set of 70-plus lyrics with location-specific and customer-centric songs in certain markets.

Fans can visit ShareaCoke.com starting April 18 to choose from a list of lyrics to customize bottles, and access digital images to share on social media and add to the #ShareaCoke Photo Gallery. The e-Commerce site will continue to sell 8-oz. glass bottles and six-packs of Coca-Cola customizable with names and inspiring messages. New this year, consumers can purchase customized Diet Coke and Coke Zero packaging.

“We’re creating an entirely new and different way to connect with music through our packaging,” Belliotti said. “It will be interesting to see this campaign trigger memories of songs fans may have forgotten as well as help them discover new favorites.”

The program features a new social sharing opportunity that’s all about the music. Fans can use the Shazam mobile app to scan the lyric on specially marked "Share a Coke" 20-oz. bottles and signage, then record a digital lip-sync video to share on social media with the hashtag #ShareaCoke.

“Share a Coke and a Song” will be supported by a full advertising and marketing campaign – including music-themed TV and cinema ads, social and digital activations, and a summer-long experiential tour of major music events, beginning Saturday at the NCAA March Madness Music Festival in Houston. Multi-platinum international pop star Jason Derulo, one of the performers in Houston, will serve as a brand ambassador for the program.

“The timing is perfect,” Mason said. “Spring is here and we’re getting ready for summer, and the Coca-Cola Music concert in Houston enables us to launch the program with an amazing lineup of artists before thousands of fans.”

Fans can purchase their own Diet Coke IT’S MINE bottle for a limited time at major retailers nationwide. In addition to the 12-oz. glass bottles, select patterns will be available on 7.5-oz. mini-cans, 8.5-oz. aluminum bottles, 12-oz. and 16-oz. cans and 500 mL and 20-oz. PET bottles. “IT’S MINE is about the pursuit of a Diet Coke fan’s ultimate object of desire – Diet Coke,” said Kate Santore, senior manager of integrated marketing communications,Coca-Cola North America. “These bottles make your favorite beverage even more special - every bottle is completely unique, which means a fan can now own a piece of the brand no one else in the world owns.”

Diet Coke leveraged the innovative HP Indigo digital printing technology as part of the design development and bottle production process. First, Diet Coke created 36 base designs inspired by the bubbles, fizz, taste and spirit of Diet Coke. HP’s software then used these designs to auto-generate millions of entirely new graphics.

“HP is reinventing printing with technologies like HP SmartStream Mosaic Software, enabling leading brands like Diet Coke to reinvent traditional packaging into unique pieces of art not once possible,” said Gary Bernier, strategic business and brand development manager, HP.

Coca-Cola Israel used the technology for a similar Diet Coke promotion in 2014. “Just as we’ve done with Share a Coke and other campaigns that originated outside the U.S., we continue to spot opportunities to import and scale innovative ideas to connect our brands with consumers,” said Saxon Seay, associate brand manager, Diet Coke.

A new IT’S MINE TV spot debuting Feb. 1 dramatizes the lengths fans will go to get their hands on a Diet Coke. The commercial features a well-dressed woman leaping through the air to grab an IT’S MINE Diet Coke bottle. The colorful bottle stands out against a black-and-white backdrop. A second IT’S MINE spot will air in late-February.

IT’S MINE also features interactive Diet Coke social media content including eye-catching Cinemagraphs on Pinterest and Instagram, and interactive, swipe-able GIFs on Twitter. Digital video and in-store, print and out-of-home advertising will showcase several bottle designs.

To kick off the program, Diet Coke is partnering with celebrity stylist, E! “Fashion Police” host and Diet Coke fan Brad Goreski to host a pop-up fashion house experience in New York City at the start of fashion week. Goreski will share his must-haves for the upcoming season and give fans that splash of color they love at micro-styling appointments. Fans can browse the season’s wardrobe picks curated by Goreski before meeting with him one-on-one to complete their look with the ultimate accessory – their very own Diet Coke IT’S MINE bottle.

From Feb. 8 through March 31, fans can share photo of their new look for the season, paired with their Diet Coke IT’S MINE bottle and the hashtag #ITSMINEsweepstakes. The grand prize: $10,000 worth of wardrobe items hand-picked by Goreski and a year’s supply of Diet Coke.

"The launch of the IT’S MINE program is a continued celebration of our fans’ unique, steadfast love for the delicious taste of Diet Coke,” said Rafael Acevedo, group director, Diet Coke, Coca-Cola North America. "Through a robust, integrated national program, we’re inviting fans to choose from millions of unique Diet Coke designs, selecting the one they feel is uniquely their own.”

Share a Coke with Santa Claus & 8 Reindeers Christmas Aluminum Bottle USA 2015

Santa Claus's reindeer form an imaginary team of flying reindeer traditionally held to pull the sleigh of Santa Claus and help him deliver Christmas gifts. The commonly cited names of the reindeer are Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen.

They are based on those used in the 1823 poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas" (commonly called "The Night Before Christmas"), which is arguably the basis of reindeer's popularity.

"A Visit From St. Nicholas", handwritten manuscript by Clement C. Moore
The 1823 poem by Clement C. Moore "A Visit from St. Nicholas" (also known as "The Night Before Christmas" or "'Twas the Night Before Christmas") is largely credited for the contemporary Christmas lore that includes the eight flying reindeer and their names.

The relevant segment of the poem reads:

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny rein-deer,
with a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and call'd them by name:
"Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer! Now, Prancer, and Vixen!
"On, Comet! On, Cupid! On, Dunder and Blixem!

"To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
"Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
